In cases where tooth extraction treatment is not possible and there are bone problems (cyst, tumor) with the tooth root, operations to be performed under anesthesia may be required in cases where implant operations will be performed at the same time.
The process of removing incurable teeth from their sockets in the bone is called tooth extraction. This includes wisdom tooth extraction. It is usually performed under local anesthesia. However, the occurrence of pain after tooth extraction is considered normal. However, the deterioration of the clot formed at the extraction site by smoking, touching the tongue or any instrument adversely affects wound healing.
Types of Tooth Extractions
There are two different tooth extraction methods that are frequently applied. These are as follows.
Simple Extraction
This procedure is done on teeth that are easily visible inside your mouth. The process is quite simple. The dentist has to loosen your tooth before doing the extraction.
Surgical Extraction
There are some teeth that are not very easy to extract. Sometimes a tooth in the gum line may have broken or the tooth may not have erupted at all. If any of these cases are diagnosed, your doctor will have to do the extraction. At this stage, he will need to make an incision in the gum. Your doctor may also have to break up the tooth. The reason it does this is to be able to remove your tooth in several pieces.
